SALES AND MARKETING COUNCIL
OF LOS ANGELES / VENTURA AND HOMEAID LOS ANGELES/ VENTURA DONATE
TOYS TO CHILDREN IN NEED
Camarillo, CA – On December
13th, 2006 two extensions of the Building Industry Association (BIA)
teamed up to bring smiles and toys to the children at Casa Pacifica,
a care provider who provides temporary shelter for children removed
from their homes. The Sales and Marketing Council of Los Angeles
/ Ventura (SMCLAV) presented HomeAid Los Angeles/ Ventura with more
than 50 toys that were collected by the SMCLAV membership at their
annual holiday event.
SMCLAV also presented HomeAid Los
Angeles/ Ventura, the charity arm of the building industry a $2,000
donation that goes to the HomeAid’s shelter development program.
The donation, an annual gift from the SMC will help HomeAid continue
the mission of “building dignified housing where homeless
families and individuals can rebuild their lives”.
As the educational arm of the BIA,
SMC’s mission is to advance the discipline of marketing and
sales through education, support personal and professional growth,
provide an opportunity for networking, and provide a forum for the
exchange of ideas. “We are proud to support the efforts that
HomeAid makes in our communities. We have a great relationship with
HomeAid, and wanted to take the opportunity to give back to the
community as they do,” said Dave Elder, a member of both organizations’
Board of Directors. HomeAid Los Angeles/ Ventura helps our communities
by partnering with the building industry to build and renovate shelters
for care providers like Casa Pacifica, who offer the support necessary
for the temporarily homeless to regain self-sufficiency.
