Council of Los Angles / Ventura and
HomeAid Los Angeles / Ventura team up to spread holiday cheer.
Camarillo, CA
Many are in the giving spirit, as
two extensions of the Building Industry Association (BIA) team up
to bring toys to children at Casa Pacifica, a care provider who
provides temporary shelter for children removed from their homes.
The Sales and Marketing Council of Los Angles / Ventura (SMC) presented
HomeAid Los Angeles / Ventura, the charity arm of the industry,
with toys that were donated by the SMC membership at their annual
holiday event.
As the educational arm of the BIA,
SMC's mission is to advance the discipline of marketing and sales
through education, support personal and professional growth, provide
an opportunity for networking, and provide a forum for the exchange
of ideas. "We are proud to support the efforts that HomeAid
makes in our communities. We have great relationship with HomeAid,
and wanted to take the opportunity to give back to the community
as they do," said Dave Elder, a member of both organizations'
Board of Directors.
"It's such a joy to be able
to bring a smile to a child's face this time of year. As the liaison
between the building industry and the care provider, we aren't always
fortunate enough to see the impact our organization has on the clients
themselves."
HomeAid Los Angles / Ventura partners
with the builders and trade associations of the BIA as they donate
in-kind labor, materials and services to build and renovate transitional
housing for the temporarily homeless. HomeAid partners with care
providers that offer the necessary life-changing support and skills
for the temporarily homeless to regain their self-sufficiency.
